Service Description
Features & Capabilities
Sequential Alarm Dispatching
Parallel Alarm Dispatching
The Alarm Dispatcher maintains and monitors connection to external 3rd Partly Alarm Management Systems. It forwards alarms based on rules. The Alarm Dispatcher handles the dispatching for a particular site and contains a set of rules that determine if and how alarms are being dispatched. The user can choose to create Alarm Dispatchers and rules to dispatch alarms to one or more 3rd Party Alarm Management Systems sequentially or parallel.
In the case of parallel dispatching, alarms are dispatched to all specified 3rd Party Alarm Management Systems at the same time.
In the case of sequential dispatching, alarms are dispatched to the subsequent 3rd Party Alarm Management Systems in sequence only if one or more 3rd Party Alarm Management Systems are unavailable.
In both cases, the alarm is considered successfully dispatched if at least one 3rd Party Alarm Management System responds with a positive acknowledgment of the alarm. A technical positive acknowledgment does not necessarily mean that a human operator has acknowledged the alarm.
