These advanced stores required cutting-edge access control, video, and communication solutions to ensure safe shopping experiences and operational efficiency. Migros was looking for a solution that could meet their needs. 

Collaborative approach to security

Migros partnered with top security solution innovators to create a robust, integrated security ecosystem for Migros teo stores. This project brought together ES Sicherheit as the integrator, Axis Communications for camera solutions and speakers, Facit for video analytics, and evalink to integrate all systems and process alarms. Their combined expertise gave Migros the keys to successfully implementing an innovative security solution in their autonomous stores. 

Integrated technology for autonomous, safe, and pleasant shopping experiences

The technology in Migros teo stores must work effortlessly to ensure a secure and enjoyable shopping experience without customers noticing it. The solution for Migros was designed to prevent unauthorized access, reduce the risk of slips and falls, correct scanning errors at self-service checkouts, or quickly send help at the push of a button, whether it's medical or security assistance. 

Customers access the store using an app or credit card, with the system efficiently managing entries. Axis Communications' video surveillance and Facit's intelligent video analytics work in the background. The system prevents overcrowding and detects shopping anomalies such as loitering, incorrect scanning of items, or customers needing assistance. When anomalies are detected, the operation center receives real-time alerts and can take immediate actions following defined workflows. Operators can also communicate directly with customers using Axis Communications speakers, guiding them through shopping or addressing issues. All of that can be done from the evalink platform, ensuring a quick and appropriate response to various situations.

Each Migros teo store is equipped with an evalink TNA Connect V2, evalink’s top device for connecting various sensors and systems. This gateway monitors and controls energy use, cooling, lighting, and more. It integrates access control, self-checkout (SCO) systems, door opening, freezer alarms, walk-in cooler (WIC) alarms, fire alarms, slip and fall detections, and emergency buttons. 

Deeply integrated into the evalink ecosystem, the TNA Connect V2 provides 24/7 remote access to vital systems for setting adjustments and alarm dispatching. This comprehensive monitoring capability enhances the store's energy efficiency, reducing overall consumption and promoting sustainable practices. The ability to remotely manage lighting and other systems further supports Migros' sustainability goals by optimizing resource use and minimizing waste.
