While Switzerland celebrated its anniversary on August 1st, 2022, Sitasys entered its birthday month. And this year, we're not just celebrating any birthday – it's the 10th anniversary of our company. 

Looking back, it has been an incredibly exciting journey that we have been on since the summer of 2012 when we acquired the public safety business unit from Ascom. While it was an exciting and inspiring journey and probably one of the best decisions I've ever made, it was also a challenging time with its fair share of frustrations. As we started developing our true cloud alarm management ecosystem evalink at a time when everyone only asked for on-premises solutions, I think this was quite to be expected.  

Paths are only made by walking. I am truly grateful for our customers who acted as early adopters and trusted us and our vision and for the fantastic team that we are at Sitasys, which I have had the privilege to be a part of since the beginning. You made it possible for us to be where we are today.

Security automated with passion

To make customers feel better protected and safer than ever, we were determined to automate processes in the security industry right from the beginning. Another main driver was our firm belief that digital interaction between parties improves loyalty and the quality of work for everyone. We envisioned democratizing access to alarm management and giving users the keys to managing their security operations and applications from a centralized platform. We also believe in the power of cloud-based technology within SaaS models to accelerate the digitalization of alarm management.

When we started configuring and commissioning alarm panels much simpler than others had done years ago, installers and service operation centers all over Switzerland took notice of that. Encouraged by the appreciation we received and because we saw the need to develop a flexible and modular system that would enable two-way communication between alarms and people in real-time from anywhere, we developed our ground-breaking alarm management platform evalink a few years later. evalink can handle large amounts of data and orchestrates security solutions for customers who need protection in a highly automated way to save time for everybody in the security chain. ⁠ ⁠

⁠Reflecting on today

Building on this early success in the security industry and driven by many conversations with our customers, we have evolved and matured from an alarm transmission dispatcher to a true cloud-based alarm management ecosystem that empowers enterprises, guardians, installers, and service operations centers. 

Sitasys has always been a fast-growing Swiss company with a very innovative and customer-centric team spirit, serving customers worldwide. We are incredibly proud of our alarming ecosystem evalink, which allows better and faster protection of people's lives and values.  

Today we provide applications like:

• A true cloud-architected and fully managed alarm management platform
• Smart and flexible workflows that provide automation capabilities
• Connect in milliseconds to the right team in an emergency or dangerous situations
• An installer and customer portal that allows digital interaction with service operation centers
• An integration marketplace that enhances security services in almost no time

Along the way, we received many inspiring suggestions from customers, our teams, and partners on how to build an ecosystem. We are delighted and grateful for every single piece of feedback and advice. 

Looking ahead

After ten years in business, we still feel at the beginning of our journey and mission to automate security with passion and democratize access to alarm management. The requests for new features, protocols, and connectivity issues keep us busy and confirm that we are on the right track. It is genuinely motivating to continue on this path, aiming for even better results within the next 10 years.  

Since we are convinced that the best results require collaboration and interoperability, we love working with our customers for new exciting values for the protection of everyone. Equally, we are engaged with many partners to seamlessly integrate platforms that broaden security services in a highly automated way. I am convinced that 10 years from now, integrated security solutions enriched with various machine learning applications are anticipated as a standard. Security will be perceived very differently than today, and I can't wait to see where the journey will take us. 

And we are already writing our next chapter: We're currently developing our mobile app that will take communication between alarm receiving centers and customers to a whole other level, the evalink academy for a better onboarding experience, and the installer portal – our all-in-one web-based platform for service operation centers and installers that will simplify the connection of sites and communication with control centers. Stay tuned!
